Artiste: Rufus and Chaka Khan
Album: Masterjam
Spotlight Track: Do You Love What You Feel
Label: MCA Records (MCA 5103)

Produced By: Quincy Jones

Wah wah wah, Quincy at his peak, how can anyone lose? The year is 1979, Rufus and Chaka Khan came back together for this Quincy Jones produced album, Masterjam. The track that made my tummy rumble and toes tingle is “Do You Love What You Feel”. It’s a funky disco stomper, and it sounds as fresh today as it did 28 years ago. I heard DJ Spen mix it in with House and it was sibei steammmm (very excellent)!!

Speaking of steam, I’m reviewing this because in 3 days, HOT-4-U will be off to Java Jazz and we’ll be enjoying it live from the Chaka herself. Man, I can’t wait, I think I should go and buy some dancing shoes tomorrow cos I know I won’t be able to control when those horns come in. And by the time Chaka’s honey dipped vocals arrive, phooo…confirm Love What I Feel!

The rest of the album is equally highly recommended. And for the truly interested, try albums, “Rufurized”, “Ask Rufus”, “Rags to Rufus”, they are all belly belly belly good.

Chaka, here we come!!!!!

Tangkap This!!!
