Ok, this one is hard to get. Real hard to get. I can’t even find the image of the original on Google. I first heard it on an online radio show and I almost wet my pants. Not sure exactly how to categorise this into a genre, sounds a bit funk and soul, a pinch of northern/modern soul but it’s all disco to me.

I dunno much about the group Family of Eve, but I do know that Please Be Truthful is a mad mad mad track. It’s spot on, all the grooves are in place, making this totally danceable. The vocals keep the track ever fresh, still so applicable today. No wonder why it got reissued on a 45 Lotus Land Records in 2006.

Doing a little research on Google and you’ll realise that Please Be Truthful is also available on Keb Darge’s Legendary Funk Vol 1 Complilation. For the serious collector, good luck. First released on a very small Jeree-Eve Label, second released in limited blue vinyl records on Full Sail in the 80’s. I saw that on Ebay going for more than $80USD.

If you like the stuff we have been putting out, and if Zao Gng has helped you in anyway, please feel free to contact anyone of us, we’re more than happy to meet like-minded folks for a Guinness Draught.

Tangkap This!!!
