Tap, tap, tap, finger snapping, heads a bopping…music doesn’t get any snazzier than this….

Ultra Cool sounds for aspiring Jazz heads, and peeps who just want something extra special in their groove.

The spotlight track for this week features Dorival Caymmi, a famous composer who pens and composes many classic samba material in his own distinctive style that is prominent and have become standards of MPB (musica popular brasiliera). Joyce makes the perfect combo for this LP, has she herself is also an accomplished singer/ songwriter that does the genres of Bossa Nova, MPB as well as early fusion jazz.

As you guessed it, the track comes in with much gusto and style and the mumbling sounds (don’t really know what Dori is singing, but you know it’s heavily armed with passion) really does compliment the clear and crisp style of Joyce’s vocals. The steam parts of the song is summed up in the lyrics below:

“Acontece que a gente se gosta”

“Acontece que e pra casar”

You got to hear it and u will know exactly what I mean. It’s kind of a serious climax sound but at the same time I would describe it as Koooooolnesss personnified…. (this is the sort of track one of them Credit Card companies would use in their TV adverts, I’m sure you get the picture.) Other comments on this track would be the killer piano solos. If you reckon yourself as an urbanite, jazzin’ in the Urban Jungle, then perhaps this track sums up big time the situation in this day and age. KUDOS and much respect to Dorival & Joyce.

Tangkap This!!!
