Love is in the air this month and I’m sure the nation’s deep sea divers are gettin’ their gear ready for the BIG plunge! For this week’s Valentines Day review, I would like to recommned a track that is guaranteed to enhance the diving pleasure for both you and your partner. So without further ado, I point you to Modaji’s love making song for the new millenium – Shook Up. Peep the sample and you will instantly know what I mean cause there is no Robinson’s Sale on the expensive chops over here. Once the rhodes hits your face, you know you will have to turn off the aircon and take a deep breath cos the dive sessions will be starting very soon.
Apart from the steaming keyboard work, the lyrics, melodies and subtle beat programming are on the money and half way into the song when the scatting begins, you will realise that there is some fonk in the air as well and you will kinda know that the mixture of fonk and love in the air will give your room a very fragrant smell. You will also later realise that the fragrant aroma and Shook Up’s rhodes sounds are complimenting each other very well and you will feel inspired to extend your dive session for another hour.
