Voom Voom aka laka laka Voom, Voom Voom aka laka Voom Voom…sounds familiar? Ahh, been awhile since I reviewed some electronica stuff, but am in the mood for some minimal german stylee. Alas one track which has caught me sometime back is taken from zee German outfit also known as “Motorcity Soul” . With all this talk about Berlin being the new breeding ground for fashion, business and music, do check out these classy housin folks who hail from Frankfurt.

I don’t really know much about them lah, but all I can say is that these dudes, really know how to pump it up with their house and jazzadelic elements. Why do I like this track? Well, it’s one of those tunes that has a robotic, futuristic feel, yet funky and classy at the same time. Don’t really know how to describe it, but I had a Jap friend who described it to me in a pretty simple and profound way. Yutaka said “if music moves your body, then you know it is very powerful.” Phoawww dem simple lah statement but that kind of blew me away. He kind of went on further into the roots of house music (with the Marshall Jefferson’s track ” Move Yer Body”) having a major impact on his music tastes as well as the birth of house music in general but I shan’t go into music history here.

I also understand from DJs and Headz alike worldwide that this type of minimal style is really catching on and it’s getting deeper and has more old skool roots and elements. Well, again, this Jimpster version does super justice to the original. If there was going to be a sequel to the classic film “Blade Runner”, this probably would fit in with the Tyrell Corporation theme. A full on track which I would stomp to for sure even if it hit rewind for a million times!! BESTEST.

Tangkap This!!!
